Paul Nelson, KSL NewsradioA new survey is shedding light on some of the dangerous habits of teen drivers.
According to the AAA Seventeen magazine survey, 61 percent say they have some risky driving habits. Of those 61 percent, "Fifty-one percent admitted to talking on the cell phone while they were driving, and 46 percent admitted to text messaging while they were driving," says AAA spokesperson Rolayne Fairclough.
She also says teen drivers admitted to speeding, and driving while intoxicated. This is what these drivers admitted to doing. Fairclough says the real numbers could potentially be higher.
"I think these numbers themselves are enough of a wake-up call," she says.
The survey also says teens admit their friends are a big distraction in the car.
