Scam artist arrested on fraud charges

Tom Callan reportingIt turns out the joke was on him. A scam artist pretending to represent a Salt Lake City radio station gets tangled in his own web of deceit.

Tickets for hockey games and a lottery for a cruise: A con man prowling Delton Bowling Lanes in West Valley City claimed he and the station were doing it all for charity.

West Valley City Police Capt. Tom McLachlan says, "The manager of Delton Lanes became suspicious, called that radio station and confirmed that this individual was not employed by them."

Ronnie Lott was arrested. McLachlan says, "Last night, we were able to contact eight people who had purchased one of these items from him."

McLachlan says Lott is charged with eight counts of fraud.
