(KSL News) Utah doesn't get much money from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to prevent illness and injury, but that might be because the state is among the healthiest in the nation.
According to a report from the Trust for America's Health, Utah currently ranks 46th when it comes to receiving money from the CDC. The state receives just over $14 for every resident--less than half of what is given to some other states.
However, some medical experts tell the Deseret Morning News that Utah doesn't have the health problems other states have. Utah has a lower number of people who smoke and lower rates of cancer and childhood obesity.
