TAYLORSVILLE — A woman was arrested Friday after police say she rammed several vehicles, led officers on a chase, and then tried to carjack a woman.

The 33-year-old woman was spotted in the area of 1624 West and 3500 South in a Suzuki Kizashi that was listed stolen out of Farmington, according to a police booking affidavit. Taylorsville officers say they attempted to box the vehicle in after learning it was stolen.

The woman, however, put the car into reverse damaging an unoccupied vehicle behind her, and then put the vehicle in drive damaging two police cars, the affidavit says. This incident led the police to initiate a car chase.

The female drove east where police said she ran a red light, hitting one vehicle and causing collisions involving three other vehicles.

At that point, the affidavit says the woman got out of the stolen vehicle and got into a second vehicle which was occupied. She attempted to carjack that vehicle police said, but she was caught by officers.

Police found stolen property, including a bike, from two different victims inside the stolen Suzuki, the affidavit says. They estimate she caused at least $7,000 in damage between seven different vehicles she hit and the one she was driving.

The woman was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of robbery, aggravated assault, theft, reckless driving, and failure to stop at the command of police. In the affidavit, the officer said that the woman would likely do anything to evade law enforcement and would be a danger to the community if she is released on bail.
