SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police are looking for a person of interest after an incendiary device was found midday Tuesday and later detonated by the Unified Fire Authority bomb squad.
The device was found at 2150 S. State, which is the address of Raising Cane's restaurant. The restaurant and State Street were closed while police investigated the device, which they said was possibly a pipe bomb. Crews removed the device and safely detonated it, according to South Salt Lake police. No one was harmed during the incident.
Police said Tuesday that no threats had been received in connection to the device.
On Wednesday, South Salt Lake police announced they were looking for a person whose image was captured in surveillance footage at the scene. The blurry photo shows a person wearing a tan-colored jacket or shirt, a hoodie or helmet and a dark-colored backpack, and walking with a bicycle.
