West Valley man charged with human trafficking for allegedly paying teen for sex

SALT LAKE CITY — A West Valley man is facing criminal charges accusing him of paying a teenage girl he met on Snapchat for sex.

Moses Corrales, 29, was charged Tuesday in 3rd District Court with human trafficking for sexual exploitation, a second-degree felony, and unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a third-degree felony.

The investigation began when a girl contacted police and said she had met Corrales on Snapchat when she was 15.

"She described that she met with Corrales at a park in Salt Lake County and had sex with him in the back seat of his car … and once he was done, he sent her $300," according to charging documents. "(She also) sent Corrales nude photographs for money."

Prosecutors have requested that Corrales be held in the Salt Lake County Jail without the possibility of posting bail pending trial due to his being a flight attendant and having "ample opportunity and resources to leave the state," charging documents state.

After he was arrested, police served a search warrant on Corrales' email account and found "multiple messages between the account user and unknown individuals soliciting sexual acts in return for money," according to a police booking affidavit.

Prosecutors say the investigation is ongoing.
