THISTLE, Utah County — A motorcyclist died Thursday near Thistle Junction in Spanish Fork Canyon after a collision with another vehicle.

A vehicle was turning from U.S. 89 onto westbound U.S. 6 when the motorcyclist, who was eastbound on U.S. 6, collided with the vehicle, said Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cam Roden.

"The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and is deceased at the scene," Roden said.

The Utah Department of Public Safety said the driver of the motorcycle, a 40-year-old man, was thrown about 150 feet and then down a 50- to 75-foot embankment.

The man's identity has not yet been released.
