GRANTSVILLE — A truck driver from North Carolina died in a crash on I-80 near Grantsville Wednesday night.
A semitruck pulling a box trailer was traveling east on I-80 when it tipped over and went into the median.
"There are high winds in the area and it's possible the semi blew over on its side in the median from the wind," said Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cam Roden. He said the semi was the only vehicle involved.
The man driving the semitruck — Ruben N. Sepulveda, 43, of Clyde, North Carolina — sustained fatal injuries and his female passenger was transported to a hospital by ambulance.
One lane of eastbound I-80 was closed for about an hour before reopening, Roden said.
