MAGNA — A 7-month-old baby boy drowned in Magna Wednesday evening, police said.

Unified Police Sgt. Aymee Race said officers responded to the report of an accident just after 6:30 p.m. near 2700 South and 9100 West.

When they arrived, they administered CPR on the infant. He was transferred to a hospital where he died.

Police have not released the baby's name or any additional details.

The death is being investigated as an accidental drowning, police said.
