WEST BOUNTIFUL — FrontRunner service in Davis County was disrupted and a truck was totaled, but no injuries were reported in a Thursday night collision between the commuter train and a vehicle.
UTA spokesman Gerry Carpenter said the crash happened at 8 p.m. at 400 N. and 660 West, where a truck traveling east on the frontage road ran the stop sign, plowed through a chain-link fence and crossed a Union Pacific Railroad track. Once on UTA's FrontRunner tracks, the nose of the truck was clipped by a southbound train.
Carpenter said the 20-year-old southern Davis County man was uninjured, but service was halted for about an hour.
Commuters were re-routed to buses. The accident remains under investigation.
