(KSL News) We report a lot of police chases, but not many of them start in reverse. A man tried to escape police by driving backward for more than a block.
A Salt Lake City police officer tried to approach Alejandro Guiterez-Munoz, who was sitting in a parked van that had revoked plates, and Guiterez-Munoz took off.
He didn't get far. While going in reverse, he crashed into a traffic pole. But he didn't give up. He took off again, then ditched his van in a parking lot and ran on foot.
Police caught him and booked him into jail.
