(KSL News) One of Utah County's most prolific criminal offenders will be getting out of prison sooner than expected, and that is not sitting well with the county attorney's office.
In August of 2007, Michael was sentenced to 30 years prison on charges of possession of a controlled substance and receiving stolen property.
However, last week the Board of Pardons and Parole gave him a release date of January 2011. That means he will have served 3 1/2 years of his 30-year sentence.
The Provo Daily Herald reports that the deputy county attorney who prosecuted Pino was shocked the board cut his prison time so substantially, since Pino has a long criminal history including a previous stint in prison.
Before his most recent conviction, Pino had been arrested 29 times in the past decade.
