SALT LAKE CITY — Former Utah Attorney General John Swallow now only needs to check with his pretrial officer once a week in the criminal case against him.
Third District Judge Elizabeth-Hruby Mills reduced Swallow's requirement from once a day in a court order Wednesday. Swallow's lawyer made the request in a motion last month, noting Swallow has complied with the terms of his release since being arrested in July 2014.
Swallow, a Republican who resigned after less than a year into his first term, faces a dozen felony public corruption charges associated with the attorney general's office. He has pleaded not guilty. A trial date has not been set.
