(KSL News) -- Utah County's economy is getting a boost. Job-seekers filled the halls at IM Flash Technologies today.
The memory chip production plant, formerly known as Micron, is hiring hundreds of entry-level workers.
Shawn Siddoway, Recruiting Manager, IM Flash Technologies: "We'll bring them in, we'll teach them about the industry. We'll teach them the systems that we operate on. This is nothing like an assembly line."
Micron built the facility in 1995 to test memory chips. Now IM Flash is converting the building into a full-scale production plant, employing 18-hundred.
Memory chips created there are used in MP 3 players and digital cameras and other electronic devices.
A grand opening is planned for April.
