ROY — All southbound I-15 lanes have reopened in Weber County after a crash involving multiple semitrucks resulted in a two-hour closure and heavy traffic delays.
The crash happened shortly after 11 a.m., with trucks blocking the southbound I-15 lanes in Roy, according to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cameron Roden. He said there were no injuries as a result of the crash, but it did lead to a hazardous materials cleanup.
It wasn't clear what caused the crash, although it was raining at the time. The crash remains under investigation.
The freeway was closed at the 5600 South exit in Roy to allow for vehicles to bypass the cleanup, resulting in traffic delays over 15 minutes. The Utah Utah Department of Transportation reported that all lanes reopened shortly before 1:30 p.m., adding there may continue to be residual delays for part of Tuesday afternoon.
