Heating problem closes Provo library

Randall Jeppesen reporting While the storm outside caused problems for commuters this morning, workers with the Provo library are dealing with what you might call a storm on the inside.

The walkway into the Provo library is usually clear from ice and snow because it has an automatic melt system. But the library's boiler is broken, so it's cold inside as well.

"Everybody's bundled. We're in hats, long sleeves, long underwear," said Gene Nelson, the library's director.

Nelson says the temperatures are in the 50s, so the library is closed. That has a lot of disappointed parents showing up with their kids "I drove all the way from north Orem to come to story time with my son," one woman said.

The repair work is underway on the boiler. They're hoping to have it fired back up sometime tomorrow.
