(KSL News) The Memorial Day weekend started off rough for some people when several cars were involved in accidents in Spanish Fork Canyon today.
At approximately 5:30 pm, UHP was dispatched to two accidents in Spanish Fork Canyon. The first was at mile post 201. It involved three cars and a semi truck. There were no injuries and no traffic was blocked.
The second occurred at mile post 204. UHP troopers say a car with five passengers was traveling too fast for the conditions and lost control and rolled. The five passengers exited the vehicle and were assessing the damage when another car lost control and hit four of them.
Two victims were transported by air in critical, but stable condition. Another was transported by ground to the hospital. The driver of the second car was also transported by ground to a hospital.
Spanish Fork Canyon was closed for approximately 35 minutes.
Wet roads were a factor in these accidents.
