BLANDING — A fire destroyed a vehicle Sunday morning, with the cause still unknown, according to Blanding Police. In a Facebook post from the police department, the fire occurred at 8:40 a.m. near 740 S. Main St. Police said the driver pulled out of the nearby hotel parking lot when his vehicle started to smoke. The post stated that bystanders attempted to put out the flame with fire extinguishers, but the fire rapidly spread through the vehicle. Traffic was diverted as the Blanding Fire Department was able to put out the flames, according to the police. The cause of this fire is still unknown.
