Developer proposes indoor water park

OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- A developer wants to put a $115 million indoor water park in downtown Ogden.

Horizon Construction Group says the park would be built on 1.6 acres and include slides, a lazy river, a raft ride and a spa area. It would be built in two phases and resemble a tropical getaway.

Developers say the park is designed to pair with the proposed 14-story Midtown Village luxury hotel that may be built across the street. They say a skywalk could connect the two.

The plan was presented at a Tuesday night meeting with developers and members of city council. The city's redevelopment agency board may vote as early as Feb. 5.
