Crews dowse fire in Layton

Highway 193 in Layton is back open after fire crews had to close it due to a small brush fire located near the Quail Ridge subdivision.

The road was closed for about an hour but was reopened at 1:15 p.m. after fire crews were able to put it out.

The fire burnt some grass in a small, wooded area near the subdivision, and the main cause for concern was that it would spread to nearby homes and businesses.

Luckily, no buildings were burned.
