HERRIMAN — A woman was killed early Wednesday when she was hit by a vehicle in Herriman, police said.

The crash happened on northbound Mountain View Corridor at Real Vista Drive (14820 South) about 5:45 a.m., Herriman police said.

The driver of a truck told police he struck something but wasn't sure what he hit. He got out of the truck and found the woman laying on the ground, and he called 911, KSL-TV reported. The driver stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The woman's age was estimated at 25 to 35 years old. Her name has not yet been released.

Northbound Mountain View Corridor was closed for several hours as police investigated the crash, and it reopened at about 11 a.m.
