WEST HAVEN, Utah (AP) -- A motorcyclist collided with a dark-colored horse before dawn on a country road and died from his injuries.
Police say the 48-year-old man wasn't wearing a helmet early Thursday. He was found curled up next to a downed bike. The horse also died from the collision.
The horse had gotten loose from a nearby farm and was just being rounded up.
Tammy Cevering said she was pulling out of her driveway around 4:35 a.m. when she spotted the loose horse. It was grazing at the side of the road.
Cevering said gathered up a halter and rope, but by the time she was ready to catch the horse it was too late.
