LAYTON — A 2-year-old boy died Monday after a crash in Layton, police said.

Police reported the crash about 3:30 p.m. on state Route 193 near Fort Lane.

The boy and his mother were taken to a hospital, where the boy died Monday night. His name has not yet been released.

The mom's injuries did not appear life-threatening, said Layton Police Lt. Travis Lyman. He did not know her condition as of Tuesday.

No other information about the crash has yet been released.

Correction: An earlier version incorrectly reported the location of the crash as being on state Route 139 instead of state Route 193.
