SALT LAKE CITY — One person was killed on Saturday in a crash involving multiple vehicles on Interstate 80 in Tooele. Cpl. Eddie Wright with the Utah Highway Patrol said three vehicles were involved in the crash. Eastbound I-80 was closed while the crash was investigated and crews worked to clear the scene. Traffic was diverted to state Route 201. According to the Department of Public Safety, a Chevrolet Malibu was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-80. The Malibu struck an eastbound Dodge Ram 2500 head on before coming to a rest along the cable barrier. A Toyota RAV4 traveling behind the Dodge struck it, causing the truck to flip and block all eastbound lanes. Rescue workers pronounced the driver of the Malibu dead at the scene. All other involved occupants were transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
