ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) — Police in Louisiana say a man wanted on warrants was shot and killed as a task force tried to take him into custody.
Alexandria police identified the man as 27-year-old Bobby Anderson.
The Town Talk (http://townta.lk/1gtHiwM ) reports members of a U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force were trying to serve Anderson at a convenience store Wednesday afternoon with warrants charging him with two counts of attempted second-degree murder and several other charges.
Police say Anderson threatened officers as they were attempting to take him into custody and a task force member shot Anderson. They say a firearm believed to be possessed by Anderson was recovered at the scene.
Police say Anderson was black and the race of the officer involved in the shooting wasn't immediately known.
