BOUNTIFUL — A steady burst of snow swept through Bountiful Wednesday, quickly coating cars, sidewalks and road signs — just about everything in sight. Residents wasted no time firing up snow blowers and grabbing shovels as the storm settled in. Even with the accumulating snow, some people — and pets — weren’t deterred. As Liva Posh walked her dogs, Cinnamon and Lava, the pair barked excitedly at the fresh flakes. “Well, I love the snow,” Posh said. “Being from Eastern Europe, this is my kind of weather.” A few miles away, Kerry Fenwick and Brandon Smith teamed up — shoveling, and snow-blowing — to clear their driveways and sidewalks. “I love it, we need it,” Fenwick added as she worked. “Finally get to do it for the first time,” Smith said. “It’s been kind of a crazy winter.” For many, the snowfall is more than just a chore — it’s a hopeful sign for the months ahead. “So I can water my lawn this summer, and the golf course,” Fenwick joked. Phil Miller, also out clearing his driveway, said this storm is far from the biggest Bountiful has seen — but it did surprise him. “There’s more snow here than there was in Park City,” Miller said. “It’s probably going to be a skip-the-gym day … if I’m going to have to do this two or three more times.” Between salting, shoveling and repeating the cycle, Miller called it a strength workout courtesy of Mother Nature. Fenwick agreed. “It’s a very good workout, especially for old ladies,” she laughed. And while this winter has been slower than usual, Don Condie said he's happy to see the snow finally show up. “Really this hasn’t been a Utah winter — this has been like Texas,” Condie said. “I’m happy to see normal winter weather.” With more storms expected, some are ready for even more accumulation. “Well, that’s awesome. Bring it on,” Fenwick added.
