LAYTON -- Layton police are looking for a man who tried to rob a credit union Wednesday in an unusual outfit.
Surveillance photos show him decked out in a cream-colored suit and a dark fedora when he walked into the America First Credit Union at 425 W. Heritage Park Boulevard just before closing time.
The man demanded cash from a teller. He didn't say he had a weapon, but he held his hand in his jacket pocket as if he had one.
He then moved behind the counter to get the money, but quickly fled empty-handed when he learned police had been called.
When officers arrived, they were able to track his footprints in the snow with K-9 units for about two blocks before losing the trail.
In addition to his strange attire, the man is described as being 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 160 to 170 pounds.
If you recognize the man, contact the Layton Police Department at 801-497-8300.
