(KSL News) Hill Air Force Base introduced the newest fighter plane today. The F-35 Lightning Two Joint Strike Fighter is the fifth-generation fighter plane with the most advanced technology aviation has seen.

Mike Barton, F35 program and pilot interface: "It's very exciting for me and the company as well to know that we are producing another airplane that's going to be around for years and years. "

Fifth-Generation Fighter Plane Introduced at Hill AFB

The plane is not detected by radar, can go after any target on land or water and in any weather conditions. The cockpit has an 8x20-inch touch screen and voice commands that can be customized by each pilot. Even the helmet plays a vital role with a screen in the visor instead of the cockpit.

Hill Air Force Base should be seeing the F-35s within eight years.
