ROOSEVELT, Utah (AP) -- The woman whose body was found last year in Uintah County died of a drug overdose.
That's according to a toxicology report. The medical examiner's office says the pain killer fentanyl was the cause of death for 26-year-old Kimberly Michelle Turney.
Authorities say fentanyl is an extremely potent medication, typically prescribed for chronic pain and when no other medications work. Deputies say Turney did have a valid prescription for the drug.
Turney went missing back in November after her SUV caught on fire on Red Wash Road. Days later, a helicopter used in the search, crashed and killed a sheriff's detective.
Two days after the crash, deputies say Turney's body was found in an abandoned dump site on Thanksgiving Day.
