ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- Police disclosed more details about the death of a 15-year-old girl, saying she had just met the 14-year-old suspect for the first time.
Keely Hall met the boy through two other boys, police Capt. Barry Golding said.
"They were hanging out at the park, and the first two boys went home, leaving Keely alone with the suspect," Golding said.
Hall was found strangled in Dixie Downs Park early on Jan. 10.
The suspect remains in a juvenile-detention center while Washington County prosecutors prepare to file charges next week.
The boy was calm Thursday and answered "yes" when 5th District Juvenile Court Judge Hans Chamberlain asked if he was "doing OK" in detention.
Police have declined to say much about evidence. There was "definitely a struggle," Golding said.
