(KSL News) State troopers say a man hit by a truck on I-15 was under the influence of drugs.
The Utah Highway Patrol says Jerry Hafen is still at a hospital in critical condition. Witnesses told troopers Hafen was walking along Interstate 15 in Provo this morning, trying to hitchhike.
Sgt. David Rumfield, Utah Highway Patrol: "he was pretty much straddling the white line here, putting his arm out to traffic. Apparently trying to get traffic to stop to get a ride."
State troopers say a truck hit Hafen's arm and pushed him to the ground. He broke several bones.

At first, UHP called a medical helicopter to the scene and shut down the freeway so it could land, but troopers decided his injuries weren't that serious, and an ambulance took him to the hospital.
