PANGUITCH -- A semi truck driver died near Panguitch Monday evening after losing control of her rig.
Investigators say it appears Janine Koons was traveling eastbound on state Road 20 and went too fast around a curve near milepost 11. The semi rolled, and then caught fire; flames engulfed the cab.
Koons, a woman in her 50s from Nevada, was the only person in the rig and died on scene from injuries and burns.
The trailer Koons was hauling was loaded with ice cream, but the Utah Highway Patrol does not yet know where it was headed.
