SOUTH SALT LAKE -- A man is in jail, accused of beating his girlfriend's 2-year-old son.
Police arrested Justin Hanson, 20, after the boy was taken to Primary Children's Medical Center Wednesday with flu-like symptoms. Doctors found that his liver and pancreas were damaged by some sort of blunt-force trauma. He also had several bruises.
The boy's mother told detectives Hanson, who had been living with them for about two months, may have abused her son.
After police interviewed Hanson, he was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail. He now faces child abuse charges.
