SALT LAKE CITY -- Residents can speak out again starting Thursday about a new location for a public safety complex.
People overwhelmingly said "no" to a proposed location at Library Square.
City leaders have not picked a new spot for the $125 million building. They want public input first.
Salt Lake Fire Chief Tom Shannon says location is key. "Certainly my concern is that we are connected to a greater focus and that is the collective effort of public safety," he said earlier this month.
Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker has returned for more input from experts; they are looking at a few options like the Ken Garff block or Chamber of Commerce block.
The first open house on the issue is Thursday at 4:30 p.m. A bond for the public safety building will be on November's ballot.
