(KSL News) -- Crews at Willard Bay Dam worked all night and all day today to correct a malfunction that caused a giant puddle to form where it's not supposed to be, on the dry side of the dam.
Crews discovered the problem yesterday and hauled in 100 truckloads of sand and gravel to shore up the dam.
Today they determined the dam did not leak; the puddle was groundwater bubbling up from a blocked drain.
The puddle caused soil to slough from the face of the dam, but officials say the structure was never threatened.
