SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The search is being scaled back for a Florida man missing since April 25 after a boat with six people aboard sank in Lake Powell in southern Utah.
The bodies of three people were recovered in the days after the 20-foot boat disappeared. Two other people survived. Crews have been looking for Robert Prescott, of St. Petersburg, Fla.
The boat apparently took on water and went down in stiff winds and high waves.
Brian Sweatland, a spokesman for Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, says the amount of time spent searching is being scaled back. He says a decision will be made in the coming days whether to continue using sonar equipment to search for the boat.
The boaters included two retired couples from Florida and one from Arizona.
