I was intrigued during my recent visit to the Youthful Image Medical Spa. I have featured many spas on this program, but I couldn't recall if I ever visited a medical spa.
Dr. Denise Lochner, a gynecologist at the Ogden Women's Clinic in the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden owns the spa, which is located on the fourth floor of the hospital. It is a full-service spa that offers advanced skin rejuvenation procedures and anti-aging treatments performed by licensed practitioners and on-site physicians.
The doctor told me one of the spa's mantras is, "Give us an hour; we'll give you back years." That's quite a promise, but who doesn't want to turn back the clock a little to look and feel better? I saw a long menu of procedures that are offered including microdermabrasion, fractional laser treatments, treatments for spider veins, vascular lesions and pigmented lesions, dermal fillers, Botox cosmetic and other treatments. The spa also carries a variety of skin-care products.
Microdermabrasion is an interesting procedure; it's an innovative way to exfoliate any body part. The process is fast and comfortable and produces exceptional results.
The Youthful Image Medical Spa also offers specialty facials and peels. The Vitalize Peel helps fight the effects of time, sun damage and environmental assaults. They offer permanent make-up and permanent hair reduction as well as a special acne treatment. I always thought acne was a problem that only affected teenagers, but I learned that up to 80 percent of people in their 20s and 30s suffer from this common skin problem.
