(KSL News) Attorneys for a Spanish Fork woman convicted of child abuse homicide say their client deserves a new trial.
Daniella Ruiz was convicted of shaking a child in her care, causing a blood clot that caused his death.
Her lawyers say the death could have been caused by a blood clotting disorder, and that tests to rule out that possibility should have been done.
Prosecutors say a new trial should not be granted because these issues should have been raised earlier.
