President-elect Barack Obama now has a designation he'd rather not have. A national outdoor online magazine is naming him "Gun Salesman of the Year."

At Doug's Shoot'N Sports, they are working on ways to expand the parking lot. Try to call on the phone, and you may have to try again.

Dave Larson says jitters about an Obama presidency continue to drive sales. "Bill Clinton certainly sold a lot of guns. The first crime bill and Brady Bill certainly spiked sales, and this spike that we've seen recently has exceeded that," Larson said.

The Outdoor Wire says without the president-elect, the gun industry might be suffering with the rest of the economy. It says criminal background checks for gun purchases are up by 24 percent in December and 42 percent the month before. Sales of ammunition and rifles with high magazine capacity have also remained strong.

Rumors over possible changes have abounded. Some industry experts say they doubt some of those fears will be realized.
