LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Jared Quayle scored 17 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out a game-high seven assists to lead Utah State to a 85-45 win over Howard on Monday night.
Three other Aggies (10-1) scored in double figures: Tyler Newbold with 16 points, Gary Wilkinson with 13 and Tai Wesley with 11.
Howard (1-9) was led in scoring by Nate Cooper with nine points. The game was part of the four-team Duel in the Desert holiday tournament, hosted by Utah State.
The Aggies stretched their 19-point halftime lead to 32 points, 58-26, with 11:10 to play when Newbold hit his third 3-point shot in the second half.
Utah State shot 8-of-21 from the 3-point line, while Howard was 2-of-11.
Howard's usual leading scorer, Eugene Myatt, was held scoreless in the first half and ended up with seven points. Utah State outrebounded the Bison 48-23.
Utah State led the entire first half, with Quayle scoring nine of the final 14 points in the half for the Aggies.
Utah State shot 55 percent from the field in the half, to 31 percent for Howard.
