HOLLADAY — A dog was rescued from a burning home in Holladay early Tuesday after the family was unable to find it, according to the Unified Fire Authority.
Officials said all occupants of the home safely evacuated with no injuries, but the homeowner reported his dog was possibly still in the basement.
One team of firefighters tackled the blaze, which had fully engulfed the home's attached garage, while another crew began searching the inside of the home. The dog was found and safely reunited with its owners.
The first floor of the home was "significantly damaged," and one vehicle was destroyed. Firefighters did not say if the vehicle was inside the garage.
Crews battled the flames for about 45 minutes, preventing the fire from spreading to other homes nearby. One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion at the scene.
The Unified Fire Authority said the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
