TORREY, Wayne County — Officials are searching for a missing man believed to have been hiking at Capitol Reef National Park last weekend.
The National Park Service said in a news release Wednesday that Richard Discipio, 77, was last seen at the Days Inn motel in Torrey on Saturday, June 6.
Officials say Discipio may have been hiking in the Chimney Rock area of Capitol Reef National Park between June 6 and June 8.

According to a description by park service officials, Discipio is 5-foot-8, weighs around 155 pounds and has green eyes.
It is currently unknown what clothes he was last wearing.
A joint search and rescue effort is underway with units from the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, Wayne County and Sevier County. Public assistance is also being requested to help find the man.
Officials ask that anyone who may have seen Discipio, spoke with him, or has any information about his whereabouts to call the Wayne County Sheriff's Office at 1-800-356-8757.
