SALT LAKE CITY — Rep. Blake Moore and state Rep. Karianne Lisonbee will take the debate stage together Monday evening as they seek the Republican nomination for Utah's 2nd Congressional District.
The debate is the second contest of the day after Rep. Celeste Maloy and former state Rep. Phil Lyman faced off earlier in the afternoon as they campaign for the state's 3rd Congressional District.
Lisonbee, a longtime lawmaker who served in House leadership, dominated the GOP convention vote in April and is hoping she can turn that momentum into broader support with the primary electorate.
Moore, meanwhile, is seeking his fourth term in Congress, where he is one of the top Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives.
You can watch the entire debate live below when it begins at 6 p.m. at the PBS Utah studios on the campus of the University of Utah.
The primary election is June 23, and ballots will be sent out beginning this week.
The winner of that election will go on to face Democrat Peter Crosby, Independent American Party candidate Carlton Bowen and Libertarian Daniel Cottam in November.
