PARK CITY — Summit County jurors are returning to the courthouse on Thursday morning to hear prosecutors present more witnesses in their case against Kouri Richins, a Kamas mom, real estate agent and children's book author.

Her trial began on Monday with testimony from her husband's family members and first responders. She is accused of killing her husband, Eric Richins, with a fatal dose of fentanyl on March 4, 2022. She is also accused of slipping drugs into his food, making him sick, on Feb. 14, 2022.

Chelsea Gipson, a crime scene investigation technician, will return to the witness stand on Thursday, after testifying on Tuesday afternoon and for about an hour on Wednesday about evidence she helped collect at the home of Kouri Richins.

Kouri Richins, 35, is charged with aggravated murder and attempted aggravated murder, first-degree felonies, two counts of insurance fraud, a second-degree felony, and forgery, a third-degree felony. She also has a separate case with additional financial charges, which will not be considered by this jury.
