MIDVALE — All lanes are open on southbound Interstate 15 in Midvale after a crash forced delays early Monday afternoon.

A man died Monday after his car collided with a box truck on the freeway near 8300 South, said Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden.

The box truck was off to the right shoulder, as well as a car that appeared to have gone underneath the truck. The two right lanes of southbound I-15 were blocked for a time as crews investigated the scene, the Utah Department of Transportation posted on X.

Just after 4 p.m., the agency said the lanes were back open, but drivers may experience residual delays from South Salt Lake to Sandy.
