SPANISH FORK — A man is dead after police say his motorcycle collided with a truck in Spanish Fork on Wednesday afternoon.
The crash occurred just after 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of 600 East and 300 South, according to a statement from the Spanish Fork Police Department. Officers said the man, who appeared to be the rider of the motorcycle, died at the scene.
The man's identity was not released, but police said he appeared to be in his 60s.
"Our hearts go out to this man's family and loved ones during this tragic time," said Police Chief Matt Johnson.
Details of how the crash occurred were not immediately available. Detectives are investigating to determine exactly what happened to cause the crash, the statement says.
Police said the intersection and streets in the area were expected to be closed to traffic for several hours after the crash.
