BRIGHAM CITY — Brigham City police are seeking the public's help to identify a woman whose body was found near a construction site in April.
Brigham City police continue to investigate what happened to the woman and are calling her death a homicide. They are unable to identify the woman and are sharing a rendition of a tattoo on her on her left bicep in hopes that someone recognizes it and the woman who had it.
The tattoo is a heart with letters inside. Police have also released a picture of a tag from the sweatshirt the woman was wearing when she was found.
On April 2, railroad workers near the construction site at 2600 West at state Route 13 in Brigham City found human remains inside of a black plastic bag. Police arrived on the scene and confirmed a human body was inside the bag.
An extensive search was conducted by the Office of the State Medical Examiner, Weber Metro Crime Scene Investigation as well as the Weber and Box Elder counties' search and rescue members along with K9 dogs to collect evidence. The medical examiner's office conducted forensic examinations on the body and determined the remains to be those of a female.
The office also determined the remains were of a woman between the ages of 30 to 50 years old, between 5-foot and 5-foot-6 inches tall and of European descent.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brigham City Police Department at 435-856-7023.
