PAYSON — Troopers have identified the two drivers who were killed in a wrong-way crash on I-15 in Payson on Tuesday afternoon.

A blue Kia SUV was northbound about 2 miles south of the freeway's junction with state Route 164 when it "cut across the northbound lanes, came through the median cable barrier," and hit a green Jeep Gladiator head-on in the southbound lanes, UHP Cpl. Jared Heywood said.

The drivers of both vehicles died on impact, a statement from UHP says. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Riley Durst, 19, of Draper, was the driver of the Kia. Christopher Suiter, 50, of Santaquin, was the Jeep driver.

Troopers said two other vehicles passed through the debris after the collision and were damaged, but no one else was injured.

Southbound I-15 was closed in the area for several hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
