ST. GEORGE — Two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle near an intersection in St. George Tuesday, according to police.

The collision occurred about 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Red Cliffs Drive and Mall Drive when a driver turning left "failed to yield to oncoming traffic," according to a statement from the St. George Police Department. Officer Tiffany Mitchell said the car that was turning left T-boned an oncoming vehicle, "which then hit two pedestrians" who were walking on the sidewalk.

Both pedestrians were taken to the hospital with "serious injuries," according to police.

Mall Drive was closed to traffic from Red Cliffs Drive to 450 North, Mitchell said.

Additional information was not immediately available.
