5A boys tennis: Timpview rides doubles teams to 1st state title since 2016

SALT LAKE CITY — Braden Meier won an individual championship in third singles, and Timpview swept the two doubles titles to edge Highland by 2 points for the 5A boys tennis state championship Saturday at Liberty Park.

Timpview's doubles teams of Joe Jurca and Luke Clark and Nick Gerstner and Davis Gunnell also secured a pair of championships for the Thunderbirds, who won their first state title since 2016 and 19th overall.

Highland's Oliver Masicek and Kian Noori Claro each won a singles title to lead the Rams.
